GENERAL OVERVIEW
Andy Anderson specializes in insurance damage reconstruction. He is recognized
as an authority in restoration by leading insurance companies and is paid for
his estimating expertise by insurance companies, attorneys and property owners.
He has over 20 years experience exclusively in this field, out of his total
career in construction which spans over 47 years.
Andy’s total construction experience covers most aspects of construction as a
licensed Residential Homebuilder in South Carolina. Andy also holds an Unlimited
General Contractors license.
He has built about 2000 residential units and repaired about 9500 residential,
apartment and commercial units in the Charleston, SC area. He has built a
variety of large residential projects ranging from 25 to 140 units. The latest
project he completed was the conversion of 75 30 years old apartments into
condominiums. This project was completed in 2006 for approximately 1.6 million
dollars.
He has also been involved in some mold remediation over the past 3 years, using
a non-toxic mold inhibitor. This has given him a better understanding of the
effects of moisture in buildings.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Andy has devoted his career to providing better, affordable housing by working
with the local, state and National Home Builders Associations. He has taught
classes in residential building, assisting over 200 individuals in being tested
and receiving their residential homebuilder licenses in South Carolina.
In 1975, 1976, 1980 and 1985 he was selected as the Builder Member of the Year
by his local HBA. In 1979 he was elected Treasurer of his local HBA and advanced
through the chairs to serve as President of the local HBA and in 1982 he was
elected Secretary of the State Home Builders Association and advanced to serve
as State President in 1985. Andy has also chaired many committees throughout his
membership.
He has also served as the National Representative from SC to NAHB, the Area IV
Vice President, and has chaired the following committees on the national level:

He has served on the National Board of Directors for NAHB for over 20 years and
has received his Senior Life Directorship, which signifies he has attended at
least 2 national meetings per year in that time. He has served on the Executive
Board of Directors for 14 of the last 18 years.
In 1999 Andy was inducted into the SC Housing Hall of Fame. In 2003 he was
awarded the Presidential Star Award for his participation and influence in the
signing of an alliance between OSHA and the NAHB. In 2004 he was awarded the
Leadership Award for his participation as liaison between OSHA and the NAHB
Executive Board of Directors.
