BOYD PETIT

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Mr. Petit uses his expert knowledge of acceptable construction practices and workmanship standards to investigate construction disputes and advise clients towards the proper course of action. Many times this leads to Alternative Dispute Resolution to remedy the situation instead of costly litigation. Mr. Petit is a trained mediator according to the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators

(Maryland House Rule 17-104). His experience is based on current building codes, tradesman manuals, 12 years working for other construction companies, and over 20 years of owning his own remodeling firm in Maryland.

EDUCATION

Columbia Union College, B.S. Physical Education with minors in Secondary Education and Religion, 1980

DISPUTE RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE

Mr. Petit has negotiated numerous solutions to conflicts between architects & homeowners, contractors & subcontractors, homeowners & contractors, etc. His preferred methods are "Facilitative Mediation" and "Fact-Based Construction Mediation". In March of 2007, he will be offering Arbitration.

Maryland Home Improvement Commission license #31911, with zero complaints against him, his remodeling firm, or his subcontractors.
