GENERAL OVERVIEW

Don Garramone, president and owner of Garramone Builders, Inc., is an award winning builder who has participated in the Missoula building community for over 20 years. Don’s belief in “the customer comes first” and his attention to detail have earned him the reputation of a trusted builder. Don’s building focus is all phases of residential construction including commercial and residential remodeling, restoration, historical work, and custom homes. Don is known for his ability to communicate clearly with his customers as well as solve problems when they arise during the construction process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Don’s education in building began in New York at Duchess Community College where he earned an Associates of Arts Degree in architecture. In his early 20s, Don served in the US Army as a carpenter in Anchorage, Alaska. He then returned to New York where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Geneseo in 1979. From 1984-1987, while attending Montana State University (MSU), Don taught construction classes to undergraduate students. During Don’s early career, he obtained over 1000 trade school carpentry hours. Also while attending MSU, in 1984 he was certified in super insulated building for the State of Montana. Don received his arbitration training from CDRS in March 2008 and his mediation training from Montana Mediation in April 2007.

In 1988, Don began Garramone Builders, Inc., and has served as president since that time. Don’s company has built a reputation of quality, integrity, and honesty throughout the Missoula valley. During the past 20 years, Garramone Builders Inc. has received three historic preservation awards, as well as numerous Missoula Building Industry Association awards, including four recent 2008 Missoula Parade of Homes awards for one of the company’s custom homes. He was also named Missoula Home Builder of the Year in 2000, 2002, and again in 2003.

As a dedicated member of the local, state and national building community, Don has established himself as a trusted leader of the building industry. Don has been a member of the Missoula Building Industry Association since 1995. He also serves as a member of the Montana Building Industry Association and the National Association of Home Builders, and has served or is serving in the following capacities:

Don is not only personally active in supporting the housing industry but is also active in community affairs. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Missoula Chamber of Commerce and has also served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity.
