GENERAL OVERVIEW Dan has over 30 years in the construction industry. Between 12 to 15 years at the beginning of his career was spent in the field dealing with the day to day job-site operations of both residential and light commercial. Starting as a specialty sub-contractor, Dan has been involved in all types of framing, insulation, exterior finishes, air sealing. He is an expert in the field of roofing and related flashings. All types of steep roofing (slate, tile, metal,) Additionally, he has been certified as an expert in all of the flat roof membrane systems. Dan quickly moved on to renovations, historic restorations, and new home construction featuring system-built homes particularly custom post and beam homes exclusively As an independent dealer for one of the oldest post and beam home manufacturers in the world, Dan’s role has expanded sales to design, specification writing, construction management and quality control. His hands-on industry experience list include Subcontractor: Framing, Insulation, Drywall, Roofing, Exterior Finishes Trim Carpentry. Residential Sprinklers Design-Build and construction management Contract and construction documentation Adherence to the documents and the building code requirements Materials Selection, Budgeting Scheduling, Billing, and Cost Accounting Customer and Subcontractor relations Mold/ Mildew and Water Intrusions His experience and understanding of the building codes and their application in the field gives him a thorough understanding of the issues and details to arrive at a fair and equitable resolution to the problems at hand. Dan has the natural skills to talk with customers and takes the time to explain the issues Dan continues to work to become an industry leader with a concentration on construction materials, and code standards. He also is acquiring those skills at the local, state, & national level. He chairs the Pa UCC Task Force . He sits on the building codes and standards sub-committee at the NAHB. Dan is a member of the International Code Council (ICC) and will sit on the Green Construction Code development committee for the 2015 code cycle. That committee will focus solely on energy and water components of the new Green Construction Code (IGCC) Dan grew up on a working farm in central Pa. He has a thorough understanding of agricultural construction and the ag systems contained in these buildings. Dan attended Penn State University majoring in Ag Engineering and Mechanization. |
