GENERAL OVERVIEW

John M. Schlosy has been a construction industry professional for more than thirty years serving as a construction manager, contract administrator, authorized OSHA construction outreach safety trainer and construction arbitrator, mediator and expert witness.  Since 1989 Mr. Schlosky has been an active ADR professional serving on numerous private and public sector mediations, arbitration panels and as a sole arbitrator for construction disputes ranging in value from $100,00 to $10 million.  His “Hands-On” multi-disciplinary expertise and hundreds of hours of  Alternate Dispute Resolution case experience makes him well suited   for complex construction disputes.                

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Senior Construction/Contract manager, Arbitrator/Mediator, authorized OSHA outreach safety trainer and professional services liaison experienced in all facets of architectural and engineering design, construction, owner representation and project delivery practices and procedures.  To date Mr. Schlosky has been responsible for the general management and oversight of numerous multi- discipline municipal, state and private sector commercial, civil, industrial and institutional projects with a combined value of more than $500 million.

Education includes A.S. in Industrial/Construction Technology from Waterbury state Technical College, undergraduate business administration studies at University of Connecticut and Charter Oak State University.

Sole proprietor of a construction support services consulting firm specializing in the provision of construction/contract administration. Owner representation, project safety and on-site dispute resolution services.

1993-1996

Field services manager – Kasper Group Inc.
Developed and managed a five person field construction oversight group for a Bridgeport, CT civil/environmental consultant responsible for the design and construction management of a $38 million dollar renovation of a 35 MGD wastewater treatment facility.

1990-1993

Construction Project Manager – Stately Homes
Responsible for project delivery of high-end homes including oversight of subcontractors, client liaison services and field construction activities.

1983-1990

Director of Construction Services – DeCarlo and Doll Inc.
Department head for a multi-discipline architectural/engineering
Consulting firm responsible for management of fifteen office and field services personnel overseeing the construction phase of A/E projects valued at approximately $25 million annually.
