Mr. Sherwood has Over 25 years in general practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Served as municipal judge for 20 years, and as prosecuting attorney and county counselor for 4 years. In-house counsel for Sherwood Construction for sixteen years. Practice is approximately divided as follows: construction law (50%), corporate (15%), negligence (10%), personnel and workers' compensation (10%), environmental (10%), and other (5%). Has represented residential owners in the past. Most recently, acted as a mediator/arbitrator in a case between a residential homeowner and a developer/contractor who had constructed his home. ADR participant as an arbitrator, claimant, and respondent in arbitration proceedings for 12 years. Mediator, both as participant and mediator for 8 years. Extensive experience mediating consumer law problems in Small Claims Court in Sedgwick County for the last eight years. As a representative of Sherwood Construction Co., Inc., has handled 3 arbitrations ranging from $75,000 up to $1.8 million. As an arbitrator, has handled 10 construction cases involving claims of $30,000 to $250,000. Has been a sole arbitrator on an international claim based on a sales contract.
