Judy Meyer has been a trial lawyer since 1974 and a full-time mediator and arbitrator since 1994. She is listed for 2005 and 2006 as a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer and for 2006 in Best Lawyers in America in ADR. She mediates and arbitrates construction disputes, ranging from homeowner disputes with contractors to $70 million dollar construction disputes in the construction of a 13-building educational complex. Ms. Meyer has taught mediation and negotiation at Cornell Law School. She is a board member of the International Academy of Mediators, a member of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, a member of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, a distinguished neutral with the CPR Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, a Judge Pro Tem with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and a certified mediator by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is a full-time neutral familiar with the transformative, facilitative and evaluative forms of mediation and with all arbitration processes. Ms. Meyer is a graduate of Barnard College (1966) and Cornell Law School (1974) where she won the E.D.P. Carey Writing Award and was appointed to the Moot Court Board. She taught mediation and negotiation at Cornell Law School 1999-2004. She lectures frequently on ADR to national and local bar associations, law firms, and ADR providers. She writes and publishes frequently on ADR processes, current issues and best practices. She serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania and for the Commerce Court. She is certified as a mediator by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was named a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer in 2005 and 2006, and as a Best Lawyer in America in ADR in 2006.
Ms. Meyer is an active member of the Pennsylvania and Idaho bars, and an inactive member of the California bar.
