James P. Babcock has been a builder since 1974 and became an attorney in 1977 because he felt understanding the legal system was essential to home building. Jim, his father and grandfather are all past presidents of our builders' association. Jim has acted as a special arbitrator for local courts for construction-related disputes.

Michael Boersma is an attorney with an extensive background in alternative dispute resolution. Mediation settles cases. Mike is a trained mediator who has facilitated the settlement of several dozen construction disputes with an aggregate value in excess of $30 million dollars.

He understands the need for fast and fair dispute resolution, because a construction company does not make money in the hearing room or courthouse; unless they are building it.

Fred Capaldi-Builder and Real Estate Broker, Expert Witness for over 35 years. Fred was President of the BIA of S.E. Michigan, Remodeler of the Year, Builder of the Year, and a Hall of Fame inductee. Fred's company also specializes in alterations/repairs regarding ventilation, insulation and water intrusion.

Donald L Pratt has been an active builder and remodeler since 1965.  He is currently the President and majority shareholder of Wake-Pratt Construction Co., a business that was founded in 1946 and has earned the Master Builder and Master Remodeler designations..

Mr. Schaedler’s father was a plumbing contractor in southeastern Michigan and he spent his college years employed in the construction trades. As a corporate risk manager he helped plan, supervise and manage a variety of commercial and commercial/residential construction projects. Mr. Schaedler has been involved in resolving construction and construction related disputes since 1987.
