GENERAL OVERVIEW

Andrew Estes has devoted 39 years as an attorney primarily engaged in litigation, with a strong emphasis on defense and prosecution of construction and related claims. His early experience in the courts involved complex multi party commercial construction claims representing both contractors and owners in and about the Atlanta, GA area. As an owner, he restored a number of historic buildings in Savannah, GA. There, he represented a number of architects in claims involving construction and design of residential and commercial properties. In the US Virgin Islands he served in a mediator capacity following Hurricane Hugo in 1989-1990 between the Deployed Forces sent in by President Bush and the National Guard of the USVI during his service in St Croix. As a government construction supervisor, he oversaw on a daily basis the reconstruction of a number of hurricane destroyed public housing projects on St. Croix, within the scope of his services as an Assistant Attorney General of the Territorial Court. Andrew Estes became Certified as a Mediator in North Carolina (1998) and Tennessee (2000), having attended the 40 hour mediation training curriculum in Cary, NC and the 40 hour training curriculum in Knoxville, Tenn.

As a construction arbitrator he has successfully resolved construction disputes in South Carolina, where he is an associate member of the South Carolina Bar, and has concluded successfully almost 90 ADR construction disputes in litigation in North Carolina as a mediator. In Georgia he successfully resolved a four day marathon multiparty mediation for the Georgia D.O.T. involving 126 claimants in a State Boundary land dispute dating back to 1736 in excess of 5.5 million dollars.
